Recovery after Hysteroscopy
The patient can go home after 1-4 hours of the hysteroscopy.
The patient can experience mild cramping similar to period pain and bleeding.
To reduce the risk of infection, sexual intercourse should be avoided for at least two weeks after the surgery.
If one has undergone operative hysteroscopy, the doctor then prescribes antibiotics and estrogen, or both to prevent any infection and proper healing of the uterine lining.
