Embryo transfer treatment in Hyderabad
Embryo transfer is a technique in which the female eggs are removed and fertilized with male sperm in a certain laboratory condition outside the body. The embryos after fertilization are placed back in the female uterus to achieve pregnancy. This is an outpatient procedure and in this process, after egg retrieval, the eggs are inseminated with the sperm, and the process takes place after 18 hours of injecting the sperm. The embryos are cultured in the laboratory for up to seven days, and they are further frozen as they reach the specific development phase or implanted into the uterus.
The embryo also undergoes a PGT test in order to diagnose any chromosomal abnormality before cryofreezing.
After the egg retrieval process, the patient has a menstrual period in approximately 10-15 days. Then estrogen supplementation is given to developing the lining of the uterus to support the appropriate thickness to support a healthy pregnancy. Once the patient's uterus lining is ready, the patient is given supplementation of progesterone, and the embryo transfer is done on the 6th day of the progesterone administration.
